KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND NECESSITY
My diesel experience started back in the 70's primarily out of necessity when the energy crisis created high fuel cost much like it is today. Pulling an RV at 8 to 10 MPG didn't make sense and diesel pick up trucks didn't exist at that time so creative action was necessary. Time for a diesel conversion but the engines of that period were too big and heavy. My uncle Bob, a master mechanic, did some resurch on a little known company called Isuzu and found the design, weight, and power curves were just what the Dr. ordered. He then purchased a new 6BD1/130hp and installed it in a new Ford 150 van using the stock C6 3 speed auto. Well, the rest is history. He drove the wheels off during the next 10 years, pulled an RV mostly, never put a wrench on it, got 22 mpg (no overdrive), sold it and it is still on the road today. I have used other makes but Isuzu is my first choice.

INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
Our kits are user friendly with little or no welding required; however, they only attach the diesel engine to the transmission. The actual installation is up to you. The quality of the swap depends on your mechanical skills and good judgement. A complete kit is not offered as it would be impossible to cover all applications with the necessary components.

The most simple swap includes the following steps: 1.Drain the antifreeze and remove the engine 2. Attach the kit components to the diesel 3.Drain gas tank and fuel lines 4.Attach motor mounts to diesel 5.Lower engine and attach to transmission 6.Mark motor mount locations on frame 7.Remove engine 8.Drill frame and install motor mounts 9.Install engine, attach to trans and secure flex plate 10.Transfer sending units off gas motor to the diesel 11.Secure engine accessories, wiring etc. 12.Replace all fluids and put the rubber on the road.

ISUZU NPR / W series TRANSMISSION KITS
Isuzu 4 cyl turbo NPR trucks up to 1998 equiped with an automatic or a 5 speed manual can be cnverted to a GM 700R4 overdrive transmission. The cost is usually much cheaper than transmission repair. The 700R4 non electronic type works best for this application.
