NEW CHEVY 2006 SILVERADO 1500 / 3.9 ISUZU CONVERSION

The photo's are designed to show a step-by-step conversion starting with removing the std. Chey 4.3 V6 gas engine and replacing it with an Isuzu 3.9 turbo diesel engine. We used the stock Chevy 5-speed manual transmission with a mid 70's Corvette flywheel (less weight) and clutch set. A 4BD1T engine was rebuilt and maintains all factory specifications.

The dirty stuff - old liners out

TOOLS - liner frame,threaded rod and liner remover disc

New liners in

TOOLS - threaded rod, liner disc & bar

Align timing marks

Remove cam - lifters are removed from the bottom

New parts inside and new paint outside - looks new again

Drill and tap spacer bolts to flywheel

Attach adapter ring to bell housing after mounting flywheel

Attach spacer to fly wheel

Spacer will center to throw out bearing in crankshaft

Attach the GM flex plate to spacer

Line up the transmission and attach to adapter ring

Attach the torque converter and trans cover plate

Get ready to rumble

Spacer centers to crankshaft

Manual trans lovers...14.5 lb flywheel or 13 lb aluminum

Drop it in ...

....attach to the trans and line it up

Build the motor mounts and weld to the frame
